Dr. Angie McCool is a Mississippi girl through and through! She earned her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Mississippi State and her Medical Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. During med school and her residency in OB/GYN, she garnered numerous scholarships and academic awards, including being named Chief Administrative Resident. Today, urogynecology and minimally invasive Gynecologic surgery are her specialties. A member of the American Urogynecologic Society, she has been a National Preceptor (clinical educator) for women’s health and urology. Her more recent focus has been on daVinci Robotic assisted surgery, specifically single site hysterectomy for improved cosmesis and reduced postoperative pain for her patients. She has been very involved in the implementation of a daVinci Robotics program at Thomas Hospital along with becoming a nationwide proctor for Intuitive Surgical, training other physicians in robotic surgical techniques. Dr. McCool is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also has additional training in bioidentical hormone replacement therapy as a special interest to provide alternatives to women who seek relief from menopausal symptoms.
A fan of unique jewelry and Luchesse cowboy boots, Dr. McCool is known for her eclectic style. Don’t let her trendsetting ways fool you – she’s an accomplished athlete, too. She enjoys triathlon training and competition, in addition to yoga and golf. Her first love, though, is her children, two sons and one daughter. They attend 3 Circle Church where Dr. McCool is actively involved with the Hope Center in its local ministry to service under priveledged women in Baldwin and Mobile counties.
